White Wolves Drop 1–0 Despite Calindatas’ Saves
The White Wolves fell 1–0 to the Black Panthers despite a determined defensive performance led by team captain and goalkeeper Romeo Calindatas.
Black found the breakthrough in the first half through No. 7 Rodriguez, who gave the Panthers the only goal they needed. White struggled to produce a goal of its own as Black’s defense held firm throughout the match.
Calindatas kept the Wolves within striking distance with three saves in the second half, including one against an attempt aimed toward the top corner. He also helped organize the defense, signaling a low-block strategy as White tried to contain the Panthers’ attacks.

The Wolves continued looking for an equalizer after halftime but could not find the back of the net. White also attempted to use a fake-nine setup as it searched for opportunities against Black’s defense.
Despite the defeat, Calindatas credited his performance to practice, consistency, confidence, self-belief, and cooperation with his teammates.
The goalkeeper began playing football in Grade 10 and admitted that he still gets nervous during matches. However, he remains determined to improve, especially as he looks toward competing at a higher level.
His goal is simple: to help his team reach the Eastern Visayas Regional Athletic Association (EVRAA) competition.
Although the Wolves were unable to overcome the one-goal deficit, Calindatas’ performance kept the match within reach until the final whistle. The narrow loss gives the team another experience to learn from as its young players continue developing on the field.
